It started with a whisper
The people around me speaking of a new reality Softly inquiring if it would come to fruition Nobody truly knew what was in store Oh but we would soon come to know, The truth would bear its head. The whispers turned to shouts Hollering about a new world, one that was isolated Even so it made you wonder Stuck alone by myself, who would I become? A pressing question that bounced off the walls. Months rolled by as days turned into weeks Every day being the same, no deviation. And so I was trapped with myself Nothing stopping me from peering into my own soul Youthfulness fleeting as I grew into someone I only ever imagined More months passed by, and the new year came and went Old worries were being to put to rest, the cloud was starting to lift Reality had finally set in, the shouts turning back to whispers Except I knew normalcy wouldn’t return, because nothing is the same anymore.
