I miss the person you used to be
A being so bright you could light a match Now replaced with a figure so cold It’s blown out what was left of our flame No use trying to push for a spark A match lit twice won’t burn as bright This bond I thought was everlasting Now lost to the inevitable drift Memories fading from our minds With no new ones to replace them I miss the person you used to be Not the person you’ve become Because the person standing in front of me Is a shadow of someone I once loved
