The past couple of days have been spent in my room
Spring break is supposed to be here soon!
I’m excited to have days off of school
Cause’
Lately, I’ve had so much to do.

The past couple of weeks I’ve been
Watching the news
Things seem more serious than I had 
Initially presumed
Spring break may be extended ‘til late June
I hope to see friends some time soon

The past couple of months 
Were goodbyes 
Over zoom
I wasn’t expecting school to be over
So soon
I genuinely hope 
Life will resume
Cause’ 
Lately, I’ve been feeling blue

The past couple of years 
Have been
Eye opening, true
From a new love of the air outside 
To  sanitizer dew,
I’m glad I can be here
Again with all of you.
