Honor
By Aaliyah Williams I wish I remembered all the memories we share, for that I will remain forever in your debt. You would have too many hats to fit in one corner, a dresser filled with everlasting treasures. Some, beyond visible. The biggest treasure is the one that left me on that hospital bed. I felt you drown in that coffin. Grandmother, I am sorry for the tears. I had hoped one of the many, could share magical capabilities thus bringing you back to life. No amount of flowers could compare to your bright spirit. Grandmother, I miss you. I promise to talk to you more. Walk with ease. Shout with attitude. And smile with pleasure. I pray that I honor you. For a life without your honor is no life at all. Aaliyah is a senior. She enjoys writing poetry and marching band in her free time. She will be attending Raritan Valley Community College in the Fall.
